Cote d Ivoire sights

Another interesting part of Ivory coast is the Henry Konan Bedie bridge. It could be said to be the third mainland bridge complimenting the earlier existing bridges. Just like Lagos that had the Eko bridge and Carter bridge, but due rising population and traffic congestion, a third mainland bridge was constructed.

Abidjan also had Houphouet Boigny bridge and Charles de Gaulle bridge which were heavily congested at high traffic periods and almost through out the day .The Henry Konan Bedie bridge was

Malia Obama is 14 today

Malia Obama,Barack  Obama's first daughter  turned  14 years on the 4th of July. What a coincidence that she was born on the day marking American independence from the British .

Well a happy birthday to her .I remember when i was 14,i was in secondary school then dodging and hiding from senior students.

As the first daughter of the President of the most powerful country in the world, what will she wish to have a birthday gift? How does she intend to spend the day.Considering her status she can not have an ordinary day

Vacant Outdoor advertising spaces around Lagos

Really curious about the fact that most of the Outdoor advertising spaces in lagos are now blank with no adverts. What could be the cause,is the price of putting adverts on them getting too high, could it be that companies are cutting down on their advertising budget. The one pictured above has been vacant since mid may.Could it be bureaucratic bottle neck on the part of Lagos state signage and advertisement agency (LASAA ) the Lagos state government agency that regulates that sector

This one above at Falomo roundabout Ikoyi has had no advert since June

Mainland to Island commuters Brace up

For daily commuters from Lagos mainland to Victoria island, Ikoyi, Lekki and Ajah and vice versa, come 1st of July commuting between both locations will become very horrible.

Reason? The picture above says all.

On a normal day a typical journey from, let’s say Gbagada on the mainland to the centre of Victoria Island takes approximately 30 minutes assuming the person left at around 6.00am.

For this same distance for someone leaving at around 6.30 am the journey could take 1hr,
for someone leaving by 7.am the journey will take approx 1hr 30 min

Once the repair works commence this same journey will take not less than 1hr 30 mins and this is a conservative estimate.

For anyone coming from Isolo/Oshodi axis on a normal day departing from 6.00am ,it takes approx 45minutes,departing by 6.30 am, takes approx 1hr
