Dettol Multi Surface cleaner

Driving to the island from mainland just after the Lagos third mainland bridge you see this giant or inflated Bottle of  Dettol. It is located at the point where one can branch off to Sura shopping complex on Lagos island. I believe its a new marketing campaign by Reckit and Benckiser. The bottles are beautiful to look at, and it seems the color of each bottle changes daily,i have seen the purple and Yellow bottles.Which ones have you seen?

This is the Tour Postel 2001 building in the central business district of Abidjan,i believe it is the tallest building in Abidjan. It is located along the Rue Jesse Owens in Plateau Municipality of Abidjan. It is a 26 stories building and is said to have been completed in 1984.Many Ivorian Government ministries and institutions  like the ministry of Transport, Post and Telecommunications used to be in the building. But there was a time there were concerns about the

Cote d Ivoire sights

Another interesting part of Ivory coast is the Henry Konan Bedie bridge. It could be said to be the third mainland bridge complimenting the earlier existing bridges. Just like Lagos that had the Eko bridge and Carter bridge, but due rising population and traffic congestion, a third mainland bridge was constructed.

Abidjan also had Houphouet Boigny bridge and Charles de Gaulle bridge which were heavily congested at high traffic periods and almost through out the day .The Henry Konan Bedie bridge was

Well a happy birthday to her .I remember when i was 14,i was in secondary school then dodging and hiding from senior students.

As the first daughter of the President of the most powerful country in the world, what will she wish to have a birthday gift? How does she intend to spend the day.Considering her status she can not have an ordinary day

Vacant Outdoor advertising spaces around Lagos

Really curious about the fact that most of the Outdoor advertising spaces in lagos are now blank with no adverts. What could be the cause,is the price of putting adverts on them getting too high, could it be that companies are cutting down on their advertising budget. The one pictured above has been vacant since mid may.Could it be bureaucratic bottle neck on the part of Lagos state signage and advertisement agency (LASAA ) the Lagos state government agency that regulates that sector

This one above at Falomo roundabout Ikoyi has had no advert since June

Mainland to Island commuters Brace up

For daily commuters from Lagos mainland to Victoria island, Ikoyi, Lekki and Ajah and vice versa, come 1st of July commuting between both locations will become very horrible.

Reason? The picture above says all.

On a normal day a typical journey from, let’s say Gbagada on the mainland to the centre of Victoria Island takes approximately 30 minutes assuming the person left at around 6.00am.

For this same distance for someone leaving at around 6.30 am the journey could take 1hr,
for someone leaving by 7.am the journey will take approx 1hr 30 min

Once the repair works commence this same journey will take not less than 1hr 30 mins and this is a conservative estimate.

For anyone coming from Isolo/Oshodi axis on a normal day departing from 6.00am ,it takes approx 45minutes,departing by 6.30 am, takes approx 1hr

Adidas new sneakers with Shackles

Wow this new design of Adidas sneakers is really raising a storm. It has got a whole lot of people boiling with rage.
And its mostly African-Americans.Some feel that the shoes promote racism because shackles are a symbol of slavery
This shoe which has a plastic orange shackle that attaches to the ankle, they feel has a close resemblance to slave shoes

According to Rev. Jesse Jackson 'The only things we chain in this society are slaves, prisoners and beasts.'
I wont lie,i like the shoes, but they have a right to express their disgust with the design

Children blindfolded, bound found in Parents SUV

What can be worse than this.Parenting at its lowest level. What will the parents of these kids give as an excuse when questioned.

Police found a 5-year-old boy Wednesday sitting beside a large SUV with his hands tied and a blindfold over his eyes. A bound and blindfolded 7-year-old girl was inside the vehicle, along with three other children, ages 12, 13 and 15. All are in protective custody.

Lawrence police spokesman Trent McKinley says the presumed parents of the children have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse and endangerment and will appear in court Thursday.

Police say two children from suburban Chicago who were found bound and blindfolded outside a Kansas Walmart are in temporary protective custody.

The family, from Northlake, Ill., was heading to Arizona when the vehicle broke down Monday in Lawrence.

Does it mean the vehicle broke down and the parents went to get a mechanic?  SMH

McKinley says officers are working with Illinois social services to determine where to send the children.

Dolphin Estate Park

Well this new concept by Lagos state government of turning areas around most of the bridges in Lagos into parks is really cool,at least Lagos is looking more beautiful. Also its a really cool place to have family outing, children can play and enjoy themselves, while parents relax.

Although this concept is cool, but the location is kind of a problem. This is close to Dolphin estate Ikoyi

Imagine this beautiful park has no car park,so if people want to come and relax where can they park their cars? Also issues of security has to be addressed, the park pictured is close to adeniji adele axis which is notorious for  harbouring Area boys /Agberos.

Very curious to know what the government has in mind.Continue for more pictures

In Iran women not allowed to watch Euro 2012

Wow ! ! women in Iran have been banned from watching the Euro 2012 live.Sounds strange considering the fact that men are the ones that are football fanatics, most women that do watch do so because their hubby/partner loves the game

Talk of cultural differences
